Date: 10th June 2018
10km starts: 10.00am
10km: £19 per Adult *
All entrants must be age 16 or over on race day.*
It is very costly to put on a run and the entry fee simply covers the costs. As this is an event to raise funds for Addenbrookes Charitable Trust we would ask competitors to try to obtain sponsorship for their run. A suggested minimum figure to raise would be £25. However, sponsorship is entirely voluntary and is not a pre-requisite for entry to the run.
Refunds will only be given if requested by the 10th May and will be subject to a 5% administration charge. Cancellations after the 10th May will not be entitled to a refund. Sadly, due to the administration involved we do not offer the chance to transfer your place.
This is a multi-terrain event and all competitors enter it at their own risk. While medical assistance is provided for the duration of the event no liability will be accepted by either hoohaah, the National Trust, the charity or individual race organisers for any injury incurred by entering this race.
Pictures and video footage may be used on the hoohaah website or that of our sponsors and in advertising material and media write-ups. All competitors entering the run agree to their photograph being used for these purposes.
Entrants must be 16 years or over on race day to enter the 10km. It is a condition of entry that all competitors agree to the terms and conditions as set out on the hoohaah website.
This is the 2nd qualifying run of the hoohaah 10k series.
All competitors who complete the runs are entitled to a medal. Anyone entering the 10km series will be entitled to a long-sleeved technical t-shirt on successful completion of 3 out of 4 of the qualifying runs in the series. We appreciate that runners do get injured and sometimes, through no fault of their own, are unable to complete all three runs. However, the t-shirts are given by hoohaah as a ‘reward’ for completing all 3 runs in the series and competitors have not ‘paid’ for them when entering. We are therefore unable to give out a hoohaah technical t-shirt unless 3 out of 4 of the quualifying runs are actually COMPLETED.
We will endeavour to give you the correct size technical t-shirt but, subject to stock availability, we reserve the right to give an alternative size.
Closing date for entry is 4th June 2018 or when the race limit has been reached whichever is the earlier.Race limits are sometimes put on our events because of weather conditions or other events and issues that might be taking place at the National Trust property.
The registration desk at the race start will be open from 8.30-9.45am where race numbers and chips should be collected. Please note race numbers and chips will not be sent out in the post prior to the event.
To collect your number please queue in alphabetical surname order behind the desk dealing with that letter. The desks will be marked.
Please allow sufficient time to collect and attach your chip prior to the run.
A limited number of ‘on the day’ entries may be available at an increased cost of £25. While every effort will be given to ensure on the day entries receive a chip time this can not be guaranteed. All on the day entries must be registered by 9am on a first come first serve basis.
The route is a multi-terrain course around the picturesque National Trust property, Hatfield Forest. The route will include stretches of footpaths, woodland and meadows. Hatfield Forest is nestled in rolling countryside and some moderate hills form part of the course. Parts of the course may be muddy and all terrain running shoes are advisable.
A water station is located at approximately the 5km mark.
There is ample parking at Hatfield Forest although some parts may be on a field. Please follow the car park attendants instructions and take care entering and leaving the estate. Runners asked to park in the Elgin car park which is a grass carpark approximately a 10 minute walk to the race start. Please allow for this when heading to the event.
Please note that parking is free to National Trust members displaying their sticker. There is a charge for the car park of £6 payable on arrival. This has been waived for runners on the day.
If you are a National Trust member you will be required to show your NT card when entering the estate so please bring it with you.
All cars parked in the car park do so entirely at their own risk and the race organisers or land owners accept no responsibility for any loss or damage to vehicles or valuables parked there.
For more information see the Hatfield Forest Website.
A gazebo will be positioned near the race start and this is where registration will take place and any race queries can be resolved.
This will be clearly visible by the inflatable gantry and is located close to the car park.
Located in the same place as the race start.

This is a charity fun run staffed by volunteers and, while all effort will be made to record finish times, the organisers take no responsibility for failure to record times accurately. The results have been contracted out to a third party and they will record the 10km times by chip timing. The organisers accept no responsibility for equipment failure or an inability to capture finish times in any way. Failure to secure your chip in line with the instructions or to lose it will mean your time is not recorded.
We use British Athletics rules in arriving at winners. These rules use gun rather than chip times. Hoohaah base their winners on the information supplied by the chip timing company and do not accept responsibility for any errors.
If an accurate race time is imperative to competitors we ask that they bring their own watches to record their times.
All times will be uploaded to the website hopefully from the Sunday evening. All recorded times are final and no dispute will be entered into.
Qualified First Aiders will be on hand at the race head quarters to assist with any injuries. Please note you should seek medical advice from your local GP if you are in any doubt as to your health in competing in this event. The organisation will not be held responsible for any injury, accident, loss or damage that may arise before, during or after the event as a consequence of a competitor’s participation in the race.
If you are injured on the course please speak to one of the marshals who will contact the first aiders.
Health and Safety
- MP3 players- Parts of the route will include crossing private road junctions where cars are entering and leaving the estate and we therefore strongly advise you NOT to wear headsets during the race for the safety of yourself and others.
- Dogs- While Hatfield Forest welcomes responsible dog owners and you may encounter some dogs on the course we do ask competitors not to run with dogs in the interest of safety to other runners.
